Promotion and relegation regulations In the second phase, competition continues in eight new pools:
4 championship pools (with teams competing for the national field title).
The winners of these championship pools qualify for the cross-finals , which decide who will advance to the field finals .
4 relegation pools (consisting of the 4th-placed teams from the Eredivisie and the champions from the Hoofdklasse).
Four teams play in each relegation pool.
The numbers 3 and 4 of these pools are directly relegated to the Hoofdklasse for the following season.
